Independence Day!

We headed out to Boulder City in the morning for the parade. We really had a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. Addy met his first clown and wasnt phased one bit.
After the parade we headed to McD's for some morning ice cream cones :)
We made fourth of July shirts with the kids handprints painted like flags.
After the parade we headed home and watched Independence Day (of course) and had a great BBQ, then headed back to Coulder City for the fireworks show. It was gorgeous outside and we got a great parking spot right next to the park. The kids love running on the hill, and the fireworks show was awesome.
This face pretty much sums up how Addy felt about the fireworks. He didnt cry, he would grab on tight to us and rest his head on our shoulder but the whole time be peeking at the fireworks.
Ayo informed me that because he is 6 now he didn't need his earplug headphone things. I told him even at six it is okay to wear them. 2 seconds into the show they were on, glad he isn't growing up to fast.
It was a great day filled with family and fun. So grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in this country. To quote a favorite verse in the Star Spangled Banner "Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"

More Birthday

A few days after his Birthday we had my parents and sister over for a little party. My parents take the kids on a date for their birthdays to pick out a toy from toys r us and then to Yogurtland. The kids love it!

Happy Birthday Ayo!!!

Ayo turned 6! Woohoo! 6 seems so old and for so long he was our baby. He is a great big brother and little brother. He is a perfect fit for our family. He was so excited for his birthday!
We spent like 3 hours at the pool with Ayo's best friend Joe and his sister Nataly. The kids had fun swimming and me and Joe's mom were able to chat, love that.
We had to hit up Sonic for half priced shakes in honor of Ayo's birthday! We also got to see the drunk driver who was in the drive through in front of us and had cops waiting for him when he got out of the drive through, get pulled over :)
Ayo chose Hawaiian meatballs for dinner, I was so excited he chose a recipe I make :) He got lots of fun presents and we have had a lot of fun playing with them.
We got Ayo some Heelys. HE was so confident, walked right out the front door to use them and fell right on his butt. Prince was helping, and I am sure he will get it sometime :)
Hello Prince Charming :)
Playing his new Wii game, it is really fun. It's like playing an arcade racing game.
My kids are not cake people I guess. Ayo requested cookie dough ice cream with m and ms and chocolate sauce for dessert.
Instead of a party I took Ayo and his best friend Joe (and Samarrah and Addy) to see Monsters University on the day it came out, crazy I know. I let Joe and Ayo sit by themselves right in front of us, they thought that was so cool. The movie was really cute.
Prince met us at Steak and Shake afterwards for dinner with all the kids. It was a lot of fun. These kids are so cute together.
I do not have words for how grateful I am for Ayo's place in our family. He tries so hard to be good. He tries my patience often but we could not love him more. He will always be our baby boy (we can have more than one right? :))
