And Addy makes 5!

My c-section was scheduled for November 1st and I knew Halloween was going to be a busy day! I was scheduled to work in both of the kids classes for Halloween parties. Ayo had been sick off and on and had a reall bad cold, but he made it to school for Halloween. His party in the morning was a lot of fun. He went to a friends house after school so that I would be able to go help in the afternoon in Samarrahs class. I got a call an hour before I was supposed to go to her class that she had a fever and I needed to pick her up. So my kids who are NEVER sick get sick the day before my c-section. Awesome right? I gave her some medicine put her to bed, and we were able to make it out trick or treating that night. We left Samarrah and Ayo to spend the night at my parents since we had to be at the hospital at 5am. They cried so much and it broke my heart to leave them. We woke up bright and early and made a wrong turn off the freeway, suffice it to say we learned that strip clubs are really hopping around 5am. We sat in the prep area for what seemed like forever and I remember being more nervous than I ever had been before. The anesthesiologist was a total jerk, he said maybe 5 words to me, and nothing during the actual c-section, the nurse had warned me before I met him :) she was FANTASTIC, I had a student doing all of the actual sticking of needles, but she wasn't too bad. Here we go! A few minutes later Ademola Funmilola Prince Shoroye, (Addy for short) was born. I seem to inadvertently hold my breath until I hear that first cry, and the first thing I heard was my doctor telling me how lucky we were because Addy had a knot in his cord. I remember that time during every birth of every one of my children when we are told if we have a boy or girl, love it!!!. I was so grateful to hear him scream a few seconds later! HE is such an angel! Samarrah and Ayo were so excited to meet there baby brother! I stayed in hospital for 48 hours. The whole thing was easy peasy. After having 3 c-sections, I myself cant even believe that I honestly felt almost no pain. I never took more than a few ibuprofen. I had staples this time, and had to get them removed a few days later. I am always really anxious to get out of the hospital, and when I got home I had a sick son on 2 medications, and sick daughter and a husband puking his guts out. So my first few days back left me no time to recover so I am so grateful that everything went so smoothly and I was able to take care of Addy and everyone else. Samarrah and Ayo are such good helpers! Our first walk in the brisk winter weather! My sisters threw me a surprise baby shower, it was sooooooo cute. They are the best! Our first day at church as a family of 5!

2012 Highlight Reel Part 2

We kicked off our summer with Ayo's very first friend party at a local splash park. It was a blast and a great way to start his 5th! year!!!! We got a room at the South Point hotel for his birthday and had so much fun Swimming, watching movies and eating Steak and Shake in bed! We went and saw Brave with my family. 4th of July we spent with family watching fireworks at Green Valley Ranch! the beach is one of our favorite places so we headed off for a weekend trip before the kids started school. We had so much fun! After living in Hawaii for 16 months I am a firm believer that a little time on the beach is the perfect pick-me-up. And finally the big day came! Samarrah started 1st grade and Ayo started Kindergarten! They were so excited! I missed them both terribly those irst few days, but we adjusted well. We celebrated a successful first week of school by going bowling!!! Me and my mom and sisters went and saw Wicked at the Smith Center, loved it! We took a little trip to the Strip to see the Bellagio gardens and Fountains, our favorite! Ayo learned how to ride with no training wheels on and hasn't stopped since! Me and the kids headed to Phoenix for the weekend and had a Blast! We went to a pumpkin patch and the kids rode horses. We went and saw Hotel Transylvania and visited the Mesa Temple, It was a super fun busy day! 2012 was great to us but the best is yet to come......
