and we're back

SO I thought it was about time I gave a little update on what has been going on with the Shoroye family. About a month ago we came home from a great Saturday morning out together and found that our condo had been broken into. We called 911 and waited for the cops to come and clear our condo. They showed up drew their guns to go into the condo and Ayo freaked out a little bit so my sister took him for a little walk. It was a very scary experience but we are so glad that we were all safe, and for the most parts our belongings were ok. My dad and Prince spent many many many hours putting a new door in. I feel safer because my dad and Prince put the door in, weird I know but it helps me.

I just recently opened an etsy store. It is something that I am really excited about and enjoy.

I am still trying to stay busy crafting and sewing. It is something I love and it keeps me sane. I teach the 12 and 13 year old sunday school class in our ward. There are 15 kids in the class and I swear we have the smallest room in the building, but I love it. I am trying to hold down the fort and love being home with the kids. We love going to the library and spending time at the park. I have found a new hobby in couponing. I love that we have a stockpile of food, household items and toiletries. It makes me feel secure that if something were to happen we would be okay for a while. I love that my husband is still surprised when I gett things for free or very minimal cost. He, like myself can't believe we ever payed full price for these things. It makes me feel good that my family can have all of these things while on such a small budget. this sitehas helped me a lot.

Prince is still in school and almost done with his semester. He has one year left and we cannot wait to be done. He is doing so good in school we are so proud of him and all that he has accomplished. He is doing fantastic at his job and has really helped his clients a lot. He is super busy with school, work and practicum and was recently called as the Executive Secretary in our ward. We are so excited for this opportunity for him to learn and really help out our Bishop. His birthday is on Friday so we went out to dinner last night to celebrate. WE LOVE YOU DADDY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He is a FANTASTIC husband and father even though he is so busy. He always makes time to give the kids their baths and puts them to be every night. He often lets me sleep in and takes care of the kids before he leaves for the day. If he comes home, even if he has been gone all day, he jumps right in and helps me clean or take care of the kids. He is definitely my rock.

We love our little condo. When we moved from St. George I swore that we would live in more than 950 sq. ft. next time but we don;t and I am learning to be okay with that. Our place has an amazing layout, 2 walk in closets, tons of storage and an attached one car garage. It really has become home for us. The price per month was so much less than our budget so we could not pass it up. We love it and have loved decorating it. And it takes no time at all to clean. It can be hard with two kids who are loud and full of energy but we have some grass right outside our door so they can run wild.

This is my favorite wall. We have pictures of my family and all of Prince's family. It makes me really happy.

I love my temple wall. The beautiful picture of the Las Vegas temple is on loan to us from my sister Melany (she won it at Ladies Night at Deseret Book). The Hawaii temple is the first temple Prince went through and it was in our backyard when we lived there, and we have the Nigerian temple for obvious reasons:) The black buffet on the wall is just two bookshelves with fabric covering the front. It hides a lot of my craft supplies.

Samarrah is doing fantastic in preschool. She is learning how to read and next week we are registering her for Kindergarten (AGGHHH) For the longest time she has not wanted to get her ears pierced we have asked her a ton of times and she always says when I am bigger. We were at the Las Vegas Outlets the other day and she really wanted to do it. She was so brave, and she looks like such a big girl now. She loves CTR 4 and we love hearing what she learned about in class. She is a great daughter and big sister.

Ayo Ayo Ayo! Ayo is almost 4 I cannot believe it. He is so full of personality and is a great joy to have around. He always tells us "When I was little......" and we are like you are little. He reminisces like an old man it is hilarious. He will start preschool next year and loves his Sunbeam class. His teacher tells me what a great singer he is. He is a fantastic helper and a great brother.

That's pretty much what we have been up to. We are gearing up for hopefully an exciting rest of the year full of lots of adventure. I know there is a lot of talk in blogs about being real. My blog is real, this is my real life. It is definitely not perfect or happy and joyous all of the time, but I don't think is does me any good to always blog about those things. I realize there are always people who have it worse than I do. I have learned to focus on those things I am grateful for. When the hard times come (which is often) I get through it by focusing on everything I have. I would not get out of bed every day if I did not stay focused on all of my blessings and have hope. I love that word Hope. I think that is often how I feel Hopeful, it makes me feel better. A few Sundays ago we were singing Count Your Many Blessings, a song I have sung hundreds of times. I had an AHA moment- Count your many blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done- I got it! I am so surprised at what the Lord has done for me and my family. My life is not perfect, my kids are not perfect, my husband/marriage is not perfect (although I think my husband is pretty close:) I am not perfect, but we are doing our best to do what is right. So I hope my blog puts a smile on peoples faces, because every post is a chance for me to count my blessings (no whining here).
