And Addy makes 5!
My c-section was scheduled for November 1st and I knew Halloween was going to be a busy day! I was scheduled to work in both of the kids classes for Halloween parties. Ayo had been sick off and on and had a reall bad cold, but he made it to school for Halloween. His party in the morning was a lot of fun. He went to a friends house after school so that I would be able to go help in the afternoon in Samarrahs class. I got a call an hour before I was supposed to go to her class that she had a fever and I needed to pick her up. So my kids who are NEVER sick get sick the day before my c-section. Awesome right? I gave her some medicine put her to bed, and we were able to make it out trick or treating that night. We left Samarrah and Ayo to spend the night at my parents since we had to be at the hospital at 5am. They cried so much and it broke my heart to leave them.
We woke up bright and early and made a wrong turn off the freeway, suffice it to say we learned that strip clubs are really hopping around 5am. We sat in the prep area for what seemed like forever and I remember being more nervous than I ever had been before. The anesthesiologist was a total jerk, he said maybe 5 words to me, and nothing during the actual c-section, the nurse had warned me before I met him :) she was FANTASTIC, I had a student doing all of the actual sticking of needles, but she wasn't too bad.
Here we go!
A few minutes later Ademola Funmilola Prince Shoroye, (Addy for short) was born. I seem to inadvertently hold my breath until I hear that first cry, and the first thing I heard was my doctor telling me how lucky we were because Addy had a knot in his cord. I remember that time during every birth of every one of my children when we are told if we have a boy or girl, love it!!!. I was so grateful to hear him scream a few seconds later! HE is such an angel!
Samarrah and Ayo were so excited to meet there baby brother!
I stayed in hospital for 48 hours. The whole thing was easy peasy. After having 3 c-sections, I myself cant even believe that I honestly felt almost no pain. I never took more than a few ibuprofen. I had staples this time, and had to get them removed a few days later. I am always really anxious to get out of the hospital, and when I got home I had a sick son on 2 medications, and sick daughter and a husband puking his guts out. So my first few days back left me no time to recover so I am so grateful that everything went so smoothly and I was able to take care of Addy and everyone else.
Samarrah and Ayo are such good helpers!
Our first walk in the brisk winter weather!
