We are Family

The first weekend in Feb. My brother and his family came down to bless their baby girl here in Vegas. It was a lot of fun being all together. The kids had great time being with their cousins. They had fun helping Grandpa in the backyard.

Sunday was the blessing. My sister-in-law had a lot of family in town so my parents had a FULL house

My parents with their 7 grandkids.

We headed down to the Bellagio one night to enjoy the Chinese New Year decorations.

We rode the tram...

and Samarrah and Ayo practiced their special skills...AAGGHH

We had an amazing chocolate crepe.

We of course had to see the fountains, and the one song we heard was I am Proud to be an American-my favorite :)

Our last night together we all had a great dinner at Outback Steakhouse.

After Outback we had to dance it out High School Musical 3 style. IT was a blast! We wish we could be together more often.

You've had a birthday!

WOOHOOO we are back! We had a lot of family in town and now that the partying has stopped I am here to document the month of February starting with Princess Samarrahs 5th birthday. I cannot believe she is 5 it has flown by so fast. On her birthday she went to preschool and had a lot of fun. She took pink cupcakes for snacks and got a birthday crown.

Prince was able to head back from school real fast and have lunch with us at Mcdonalds before heading back to campus.

My brother and his wife were blessing their baby the Sunday after so we had A LOT of people coming into town, and my moms parents flew in on Samarrah's birthday so they were able to be at her little family party. She LOVED the makeup my Aunt Sue got her!

My sister gets all of her nieces and nephews nice books on their birthdays. Samarrah got another Fancy Nancy book, and I love that they will have a nice library of nice books when they get older.

I took Ayo to Walmart and let him pick something out for his sister, he hit the jackpot with the Tangled slippers and lip gloss. Me and Prince got her a Princess piano and some nail polish. Ayo did a great job of keeping his gift a secret, but all day told his sister "Mommy got you a piano" come on Ayo.

This year she wanted a purple dress for her birthday so I whipped one up for her. SHe loved twirling in it. I cannot believe she is 5!

Samarrah LOVES preschool and CTR 4. She has come so far in not being so shy. SHe is so kind. She definitely is little miss diva but we are working on that:) She has a testimony of the gospel. She knows Jesus is her brother and that she can pray to Heavenly Father for help. She dresses everyday with the goal of being modest. She loves all things girlie, makeup, purses, shoes, dresses. She is a great big sister and wonderful daughter. Having her was one of the best decisions we ever made. She has brought so much joy. WE LOVE YOU SAMARRAH!

For Christmas my parents got us tickets to blue man group. It was a super fun date night. Best Christmas Present!

We sat in the poncho section, but were able to avoid the gross stuff.

Prince with his new best friend!

With some of the Christmas money we got we took the kids to Disney on Ice. It was a lot of fun. Samarrah wore her Princess Tiana dress. They are so stinking cute!

This was really cool, it was the brooms from Sorcerers Apprentice with Mickey.

We got to see all of our favorite villains.

Our favorites of course were Tiana!

and Toy Story!

Minus the terrible traffic, the almost car accident, and the swearing seat stealer we had a BLAST. It is something we hope to do with our Christmas money every year, instead of buying things, making memories.

The kids loved that they had enough Christmas money to get shaved ice and they each got a toy. Samarrah said" Mommy it is a real Ariel, she has a belly button and seashell bra." Yes an almost naked Princess, in hindsight not the best example for a little girl, but Samarrah has a great knowledge of modesty, she insists on being modest always.

It was also my Birthday a few days ago. I was so spoiled. We went to my parents for dinner since Prince had to work. I got everything I could ever ask for. My psrents got me a 4 slice toaster, and my favorite Paula Dean bakeware in Aqua! LOVE IT!!!!! My sister Alyson got me the movie Eclipse! It is the first Twilight movie I own so I'll have to get the rest :)

Alyson made me a sewing machine cake!! Isn't she fantastic!

Prince and the kids got me an ice cream maker! I have always wanted one, and It makes fantastic ice cream!! My husband is getting better and better with gift giving!

My bestest gifts!

So Stinking cute!

Now that the fun times of January have come to a close real life begins. Prince has started school again and once again UNLV is doing everything it can to make sure my husband does not succeed. We have decided that we don't care what they throw at us we will not let them put us down, we have come too far, and need this degree. When we left our life of being laid off in St. George and moved here I never expected a cake walk, but this is ridiculous. Through it all we always try to count our blessings. WIth each new brickwall I usually take a few hours to freak out, then I get my head back on straight, luckily my husband is a lot calmer than I am. He is the Rock of our family. We know we were meant to be here in Las VEgas so we know the Lord will help us succeed. We are hoping for an uneventful New Year :)

New Years Extravaganza!

New Years Eve was our 6th anniversary. The night before my parents and sisters took the kids so we could go out to dinner and spend some time together for our anniversary. I cannot believe it has been 6 years, I am so grateful for all of the fun times/trials/challenges and joys that these past 6 years have held. I married the perfect man for me mostly because he has the patience of a saint.

I cannot wait for what this next year has in store for us. I love you tons babe!

New Years Eve I picked the kids up from my parents house while Prince was at work and we started the long haul towards midnight. We decided we were going to let the kids stay up this year and it was definitely an adventure. I had to include the picture in the bathtub because now they take baths seperatly being all modest and stuff, I don't like them growing up, but they are just so dang cute. We had chocolate fondue. It was super yummy and we finally got to use our findue pot that we have had for a year. Samarrah made it all the way to 10:15, but Ayo toughed it out all the way to midnight.

at 11:45 we headed out to the top of the parking garage at the South Point to watch the fireworks. The kids were scared off the drunk people who kept screaming Happy New Year. They did not understand why they were screaming. It was a nice warm 30 degrees outside so we bundled up. It was a great time for the kids first New Years stayin up.

Every year I take a picture of the kids right after midnight, their first picture of the year. These are the first pictures of them awake. After the fireworks we headed home and Samarrah was out immediately, but Ayo was up until 1am. I prepared myself to be woken up at 8 the next morning, but I had to wake them up at 10:45 because we had to be at my moms house at 11 so we could shop till we dropped.

With the new year brings new Primary classes. no longer do I have a child in nursery Ayo is a Sunbeam and Samarrah is a CTR 4. They both did great their first days.

There is no better way to get back to the daily grind at the beginning of the year than some snow. We were a little late to preschool because we had to play in the snow and take pictures.

I am so excited for what this new year holds for our family Whatever it is I know we can make it through anything. I feel like we are the Fantastic Four, we all were meant to be together, and we have a lot of fun along the way. I hope this new year brings safety, good health and fun times for all of you!!!!

Christmas is here

Finally Christmas! for the two of you who read this here it goes. We had a really nice and relaxing Christmas. The week started with lots of rain and the kids loved every minute of it.

On Christmas eve we went to my parents house for a nice dinner of soup and just to hang out and open a few presents. The kids got rocking Christmas Jammies. Me and Prince got Blue Man Tickets and a gift card to Cheesecake Factory for Christmas. It was such a thoughtful fun gift, we are so excited for Sat.!

Christmas morning was so fun now that the kids are old enough and get it. They loved their gifts. We took them to the dollar store and let them pick gifts for each other, they gave each other the biggest hugs after opening those gifts from each other. It was so sweet. We enjoyed spending time together.

On Christmas night we headed back to my parents to hang with all of the fam. The kids LOVED their presents and we enjoyed spending time together.

The women and kids headed out to see rocking Christmas lights.

This year we had our first annula grandkid nativity, it was hilarious, but so cute and a great reminder about the reason for it all.

Stay Tuned for the party that was Shoroye Family New Years Eve, and our handsome boy on his first day of Sunbeams.
