April

WooHoo so April is here and almost gone! It has gone by really fast. Here is a recap of our month. We had a little birthday party for Prince for his birthday. He left on his birthday to translate for our Church in Salt Lake City. We really missed him while he was gone. Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!!

While Prince was gone me and the kids had sleepovers in the living room. It was so cute watching them sleep.

Samarrah had an Easter party at preschool that me and Ayo went to. I LOVE her preschool. She has done so well and learned so much. I love that she loves going and has great stories from preschool.

The kids had doctors visits this month. Samarrah is 47" tall (97th percentile) and 49 Ibs. (90th percentile) Ayo is 42.5in. tall (95th percentile) and 39 Ibs. (75th percentile) They are growing like weeds. They had a lot of fun at the doctors office with the mural on the wall.

We went to my nephews first birthday a few weeks ago and the kids had lots of fun in the pool
Take cover Auntie Alyson!

Cowboy and err...cowgirl? :)

We got tickets to go see Gladys Knight perform. We went with my mom and sister. It was a lot of fun and at times we felt like we were at a Baptist Church Service. A lot of Hallejulah's and Amens!

I had my first order of cupcake wrappers and I think they looked really cute in this Easter basket!

The kids loved dying Easter eggs. They are so precise about everything. They were so worries if not all of the sides were colored evenly. They are so much fun.

Last but not least Easter! We had a great relaxing Easter. We had an Easter egg hunt in the morning and the kids loved that. Church was fantastic! Ayo gave his first talk in Primary and did a great job saying resurrection 8 times. :) After Church my sister Alyson came over to hang out. We took the kids to my sisters work and they got to see the ambulances. They loved that. It was a nice day with family!
And without further ado....the Easter outfits. They were made Saturday morning and I really like the simplicity of Samarrah's dress, with a little BAM in the back. And of course Ayo looks so handsome in his suit with matching tie. They are so beautiufl.

and we're back

SO I thought it was about time I gave a little update on what has been going on with the Shoroye family. About a month ago we came home from a great Saturday morning out together and found that our condo had been broken into. We called 911 and waited for the cops to come and clear our condo. They showed up drew their guns to go into the condo and Ayo freaked out a little bit so my sister took him for a little walk. It was a very scary experience but we are so glad that we were all safe, and for the most parts our belongings were ok. My dad and Prince spent many many many hours putting a new door in. I feel safer because my dad and Prince put the door in, weird I know but it helps me.

I just recently opened an etsy store. It is something that I am really excited about and enjoy.

I am still trying to stay busy crafting and sewing. It is something I love and it keeps me sane. I teach the 12 and 13 year old sunday school class in our ward. There are 15 kids in the class and I swear we have the smallest room in the building, but I love it. I am trying to hold down the fort and love being home with the kids. We love going to the library and spending time at the park. I have found a new hobby in couponing. I love that we have a stockpile of food, household items and toiletries. It makes me feel secure that if something were to happen we would be okay for a while. I love that my husband is still surprised when I gett things for free or very minimal cost. He, like myself can't believe we ever payed full price for these things. It makes me feel good that my family can have all of these things while on such a small budget. this sitehas helped me a lot.

Prince is still in school and almost done with his semester. He has one year left and we cannot wait to be done. He is doing so good in school we are so proud of him and all that he has accomplished. He is doing fantastic at his job and has really helped his clients a lot. He is super busy with school, work and practicum and was recently called as the Executive Secretary in our ward. We are so excited for this opportunity for him to learn and really help out our Bishop. His birthday is on Friday so we went out to dinner last night to celebrate. WE LOVE YOU DADDY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He is a FANTASTIC husband and father even though he is so busy. He always makes time to give the kids their baths and puts them to be every night. He often lets me sleep in and takes care of the kids before he leaves for the day. If he comes home, even if he has been gone all day, he jumps right in and helps me clean or take care of the kids. He is definitely my rock.

We love our little condo. When we moved from St. George I swore that we would live in more than 950 sq. ft. next time but we don;t and I am learning to be okay with that. Our place has an amazing layout, 2 walk in closets, tons of storage and an attached one car garage. It really has become home for us. The price per month was so much less than our budget so we could not pass it up. We love it and have loved decorating it. And it takes no time at all to clean. It can be hard with two kids who are loud and full of energy but we have some grass right outside our door so they can run wild.

This is my favorite wall. We have pictures of my family and all of Prince's family. It makes me really happy.

I love my temple wall. The beautiful picture of the Las Vegas temple is on loan to us from my sister Melany (she won it at Ladies Night at Deseret Book). The Hawaii temple is the first temple Prince went through and it was in our backyard when we lived there, and we have the Nigerian temple for obvious reasons:) The black buffet on the wall is just two bookshelves with fabric covering the front. It hides a lot of my craft supplies.

Samarrah is doing fantastic in preschool. She is learning how to read and next week we are registering her for Kindergarten (AGGHHH) For the longest time she has not wanted to get her ears pierced we have asked her a ton of times and she always says when I am bigger. We were at the Las Vegas Outlets the other day and she really wanted to do it. She was so brave, and she looks like such a big girl now. She loves CTR 4 and we love hearing what she learned about in class. She is a great daughter and big sister.

Ayo Ayo Ayo! Ayo is almost 4 I cannot believe it. He is so full of personality and is a great joy to have around. He always tells us "When I was little......" and we are like you are little. He reminisces like an old man it is hilarious. He will start preschool next year and loves his Sunbeam class. His teacher tells me what a great singer he is. He is a fantastic helper and a great brother.

That's pretty much what we have been up to. We are gearing up for hopefully an exciting rest of the year full of lots of adventure. I know there is a lot of talk in blogs about being real. My blog is real, this is my real life. It is definitely not perfect or happy and joyous all of the time, but I don't think is does me any good to always blog about those things. I realize there are always people who have it worse than I do. I have learned to focus on those things I am grateful for. When the hard times come (which is often) I get through it by focusing on everything I have. I would not get out of bed every day if I did not stay focused on all of my blessings and have hope. I love that word Hope. I think that is often how I feel Hopeful, it makes me feel better. A few Sundays ago we were singing Count Your Many Blessings, a song I have sung hundreds of times. I had an AHA moment- Count your many blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done- I got it! I am so surprised at what the Lord has done for me and my family. My life is not perfect, my kids are not perfect, my husband/marriage is not perfect (although I think my husband is pretty close:) I am not perfect, but we are doing our best to do what is right. So I hope my blog puts a smile on peoples faces, because every post is a chance for me to count my blessings (no whining here).

Valentines is here!

So finally Valentines day has made an appearance. It was a fun day here. Prince had school that day but we made it a fun day. He got me beautiful roses! The kids loved out party at night especially the sparkling cider they LOVED it. Me and the kids had a great dinner at my parents house and what better way to spend the day that with all of those people you LOVE! I made Prince a little basket of treats and me and my sister drove around UNLV to find his car and put it in there to surprise him! I LOVE a day filled with LOVE!

We are Family

The first weekend in Feb. My brother and his family came down to bless their baby girl here in Vegas. It was a lot of fun being all together. The kids had great time being with their cousins. They had fun helping Grandpa in the backyard.

Sunday was the blessing. My sister-in-law had a lot of family in town so my parents had a FULL house

My parents with their 7 grandkids.

We headed down to the Bellagio one night to enjoy the Chinese New Year decorations.

We rode the tram...

and Samarrah and Ayo practiced their special skills...AAGGHH

We had an amazing chocolate crepe.

We of course had to see the fountains, and the one song we heard was I am Proud to be an American-my favorite :)

Our last night together we all had a great dinner at Outback Steakhouse.

After Outback we had to dance it out High School Musical 3 style. IT was a blast! We wish we could be together more often.

You've had a birthday!

WOOHOOO we are back! We had a lot of family in town and now that the partying has stopped I am here to document the month of February starting with Princess Samarrahs 5th birthday. I cannot believe she is 5 it has flown by so fast. On her birthday she went to preschool and had a lot of fun. She took pink cupcakes for snacks and got a birthday crown.

Prince was able to head back from school real fast and have lunch with us at Mcdonalds before heading back to campus.

My brother and his wife were blessing their baby the Sunday after so we had A LOT of people coming into town, and my moms parents flew in on Samarrah's birthday so they were able to be at her little family party. She LOVED the makeup my Aunt Sue got her!

My sister gets all of her nieces and nephews nice books on their birthdays. Samarrah got another Fancy Nancy book, and I love that they will have a nice library of nice books when they get older.

I took Ayo to Walmart and let him pick something out for his sister, he hit the jackpot with the Tangled slippers and lip gloss. Me and Prince got her a Princess piano and some nail polish. Ayo did a great job of keeping his gift a secret, but all day told his sister "Mommy got you a piano" come on Ayo.

This year she wanted a purple dress for her birthday so I whipped one up for her. SHe loved twirling in it. I cannot believe she is 5!

Samarrah LOVES preschool and CTR 4. She has come so far in not being so shy. SHe is so kind. She definitely is little miss diva but we are working on that:) She has a testimony of the gospel. She knows Jesus is her brother and that she can pray to Heavenly Father for help. She dresses everyday with the goal of being modest. She loves all things girlie, makeup, purses, shoes, dresses. She is a great big sister and wonderful daughter. Having her was one of the best decisions we ever made. She has brought so much joy. WE LOVE YOU SAMARRAH!
